How our CSA works
We provide our members a weekly share of healthful, flavorful, nutritious, pesticide-free seasonal produce, fresh from our farm. The arrangement is a shared commitment/responsibility in exchange for a mutual celebration of the bountiful harvest.
What is included in a weekly share?
A weekly share consists of 7 to 12 types of seasonally available
vegetables and herbs. Our focus is on special gourmet variety, so
members often get variations of each vegetable type. A share is
enough to provide enough vegetables for 2-4 adults. View the
Harvest Calendar below to get an idea of seasonal availability of
different vegetables. Remember, harvests are contingent on
weather related growing conditions and can vary considerably.
How does a membership work/cost?
- As a member, you commit for a year and pay $30/week,
depending upon where you pick up your share
- Your membership is annual, and payments are made beginning January 1st of each year.
- Some months there may be a few weeks with no delivery (August - September and January). Our goal is to deliver 30 weeks per year, and your commitment makes this possible. If you join after January or in the fall, your fee will be different according to the time of year. View the Harvest Chart to better understand what produce is available and when.
Shared Risk
As a Twin Persimmons Farm CSA member you agree to share the risk. If a hailstorm takes out a particular vegetable, everyone is disappointed together, and together cheer on what's next to harvest.
As our supporter, we feel a sense of responsibility to you our member, and when certain crops are scarce, we make sure you get served first. However, it is important to note that very occasionally things go wrong on a farm – as they do in any kind of business – and the expected is not delivered, and you agree to hold Twin Persimmons Farm harmless.
Waiting List
Each growing season is planned in advanced and there is limited growing space available. Membership is available on a first-come, first-served basis until we are full. If the farm membership is full at the time you wish to join, you can request to be added to our waiting list. Your wait may be as long as 6-12 months depending upon the season.
